WHAT I SEE IN SHAKLEE...
My partnership with Shaklee allows me the unique opportunity to align my passions (teaching, healthy living, community-building) with my profession. When I began to do diligent research about the company several years ago, like many, I was impressed with their environmental heritage, moral integrity of creating products that will only do a body good- and never harm a human cell. I was searching for products that would benefit my immediate and long-term health, that I could trust without a speck of doubt, that would be part of my daily nutrition and allow me to live healthier. I found these qualifications and more in Shaklee.
What I didn't recognize right away, was that Shaklee also offers something even more, which is a way to live happier. Over 60 years ago, Dr. Forrest Shaklee pioneered the business model of using the power of relationships and the innate need for human connection to market the goodness of his products. It is a powerful, natural, and yet often misunderstood model of doing business- one that benefits more people's lives, from all walks of life, than many others.
In this company, I have found unprecedented products to increase the health and vitality of both me and my family. Beyond this, Shaklee has allowed me a new approach to my profession. I am a teacher who has found a new classroom- it is a classroom that allows me to be at home with my own two kids when they are young, and one that still enables me to feed my desire to do good, to listen, to change lives, and be part of a community where living healthily, and living well, matter.
HOW I CAME TO SEE IT...
My husband and I unexpectedly found ourselves on a long and emotional journey of trying to have a family- a journey that lasted nearly four years. Throughout this time of searching for physical, emotional and environmental factors that could be negatively influencing our fertility, I learned a a great deal about nutrition, supplementation, environmental toxins... as well as the gift of patience and love for my body.
I continued to use the Get Clean products to keep my home as toxin-free as possible, but began taking Shaklee's Vitalizer strip to give my body the nutritional stability it needed, and to fill in any vitamin and mineral gaps in my diet. I was learning that it was not just my reproductive system I had to focus on, but my whole body, and my entire emotional and physical environment.
I have no doubt that the high quality nutritional supplementation I was taking when I eventually conceived my daughter naturally had something to do with our success. Mine was a road of many different holistic treatments, but I felt I was treating myself to something very fundamentally important when I took my Vitalizer strip each day.
This personal journey led me to begin, with passion, my own Shaklee business. I am a young mom, taking some time away from teaching in public schools to raise my daughter and son. Along with becoming a mother, I also became part of a beautiful community of mothers and parents. I recognized that I was very naturally recommending Shaklee products to this new community of folks when we chatted about health concerns, friends' struggles with fertility or lack of energy, or concerns about toxins and our highly susceptible children. And then, there were those whopping conversations about time, and work, parenthood, and purpose, financial hardships if we stayed home, heartache hardships if we left our babies with someone else.
Wow. I realized I could, potentially, help with THIS concern as well.
And within this simple word-of-mouth sharing, I had begun a business which will help sustain my family for our lifetime, and one I can even pass down to my children. But even bigger than that, I had helped other people be able to do this for their families too.
This. This is the Shaklee Effect. It's real, full of integrity and an unlimited opportunity to do good.
